Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA)
Project type
Time-Based Media Art Conservation Internship
Date
June 2024
Location
The Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin, Ireland
In the summer of 2024 I worked as a Time-Based Media Art Conservation Intern on-site at IMMA. The central focus of this internship was processing a backlog of TBMAs acquired by IMMA in the past four years, which needed to be quality checked, assigned component numbers, ingested, and catalogued in the database. Alongside these works acquired after January 1, 2020, I also disk-imaged a backlog of time-based media artworks which had arrived on DVD carriers, most of which were acquired by IMMA before 2020. The resulting disk image files, like the post-2020 backlog, I quality checked, assigned component numbers, ingested, and catalogued. While performing this work, I also documented the current recommended procedures for TBMA acquisition processing at IMMA based on workflows, and completed Activation Reports for works on view.
