SUMMARY
The Susquehanna County Historical Society (SCHS) received funding for a preservation assessment from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), administered by the Foundation for the Advancement in Conservation (FAIC) under the Collections Assessment for Preservation (CAP) 2022/2023 program. The purpose of this assessment was to evaluate building and collection conditions, and to report insights about how potential changes could be helpful in creating a more protective environment for the institution’s collection and building historic fabric. The final report is intended as a tool to marshal resources and construct a plan that will aid in preservation, provide an assessment of collection condition and care, and support future grant applications.
